High Liner: a supplier steps forward as buyer
Umios has agreed to buy High Liner for C$27 a share in cash. High Liner puts the fully diluted equity value at approximately C$804 million and enterprise value at C$1.25 billion.
Umios already supplies High Liner. The proposed deal would keep the headquarters in Nova Scotia, the company says. There is no financing condition, but shareholder, court and regulatory approvals remain among the closing requirements. Completion is expected in Q1 2027.
Our take: the supplier relationship is the interesting part of this buyer story. Funding certainty still leaves a closing process to complete.

Logan: a cash offer with a continuing stake
Logan Energy’s proposed sale to Ovintiv Canada ULC offers C$1.40 cash per share, with announced value of about C$1.26 billion including net debt. Shareholders would also receive Logan Oil shares and purchase warrants.
Logan expects the sale and spin-out to close early in Q1 2027, subject to shareholder, court and regulatory approvals and other conditions. Separately, Logan Oil plans a private placement for approximately C$120 million in gross proceeds, also subject to approvals.
Our take: this is a cash exit with continuing exposure to a new company. Read the two parts together; the planned financing is another step, not money already raised.

Quick hits
Intersand: more litter products, a new equity partner
Quebec-based Intersand has acquired Targeted Pet Care’s litter division, including BPV Environmental, Swheat Scoop and Ontario’s Pestell Pet Products. The October 26 announcement does not give the closing day or purchase price.
That adds recycled-paper, plant-based and mineral litter products. Investissement Québec also announced its first equity participation in Intersand; the investment amount and ownership percentage were not disclosed.
Our take: product diversification comes alongside a new shareholder. The announcement establishes that combination, without showing its financial payoff.

Trans Canada Gold: the final cheque, not the whole pot
Trans Canada Gold reported closing its second and final financing tranche, bringing in C$61,018 gross. The C$2,205,737 figure is gross proceeds across both tranches.
The October 26 announcement does not specify the exact closing day. Net flow-through proceeds are intended for eligible exploration at Harrison Lake in southwestern British Columbia.
Our take: keep the latest increment separate from the cumulative raise.
