Good morning. Here’s what’s new by 7:18 a.m. Toronto.
Paramount’s sale would keep a stake
Paramount has agreed to sell its entire Kaybob operating area to Outwest Energy, a Calgary company backed by funds advised by ARC Financial.
The proposed consideration combines cash with an approximately 49% stake in Outwest. Paramount would also be entitled to nominate three of Outwest’s seven directors on closing.
That’s a sale with a continuing economic connection: Paramount would take cash out while retaining exposure to the assets through its buyer. Closing is expected in the first quarter of 2027, subject to regulatory approvals on terms satisfactory to the parties and other conditions.

AVENIR adds agencies, keeps familiar names
Montreal’s AVENIR GLOBAL has announced its acquisition of Marker Collective from Next 15 Group. The package includes communications agencies Archetype, Nectar and Outcast, plus the Delve media intelligence platform.
The announcement says Marker will continue separately under Helena Maus, with agency identities, leadership teams and existing client teams retained. A new owner, with familiar people still on the client calls.
AVENIR also sees an opportunity to share Delve across its agencies. That’s the combination to watch: preserving the agency relationships while pursuing shared technology. The opportunity is announced; the integration results are still to come.
